Run

By: Josh Stone

golden streaks of promise

are finding their way

through the forest canopy.

run to the radiance – turn up your face

spin wildly until warmth is within and without

open your hands – hold the sun

pull her to your chest.

inhale an ambrosial spring morning

exhale an entire season of grief.

it is no longer winter here

I moved away from the Bay Area after high school and only attended one 10-year school reunion. For the next one, the invitation read, "This year the reunion will be held at Briones Park. No alcohol is permitted but what they don't see won't hurt them!" I thought, "Some things never change" and I never went again. But I enjoyed hearing about your reconnecting and beginning connections. I know there are other friends gone by that would have been choice for me to see. --Linda
