Life's Lessons In My Mind
By: Kelly McDonald
Narrations of youth no longer unfold.
Remembering what my stories were,
I keep those bittersweet tales untold.
These legends in my mind take hold.
Out of my past they begin to stir.
Narrations of youth no longer unfold.
Some defy; to my mind they scold.
Others fuzzy, they're still a slur.
I keep those bittersweet tales untold.
Still others fill my heart with gold.
I listen till my mind's a blur.
Narrations of youth no longer unfold.
It's been so long, the memory's cold.
Some story's meaning I must infer.
I keep those bittersweet tales untold.
And what is best? My mind is polled.
To keep them close? I must defer.
Narrations of youth no longer unfold.
I keep those bittersweet tales untold.
